Overview
When printing checks from CMPOnline, alignment issues can sometimes occur if your web browser’s print scale is not properly configured. This document provides instructions for adjusting the print scale settings in major web browsers to ensure your checks format and print accurately every time.
By default, many browsers utilize a “Fit to Page” or a custom scale setting that can shrink or stretch the check template layout. To preserve the legal and physical dimensions required for check scanning and compliance, you must ensure your browser prints at 100% Scale (Actual Size).
Google Chrome
- Initiate the print command within CMPOnline (Ctrl+P or Cmd+P).
- In the print preview window, click on More settings in the left panel.
- Locate the Scale dropdown menu.
- Change the setting from Default to Custom.
- Enter 100 in the percentage field.

Microsoft Edge
- Open the print dialogue menu from your check generation screen.
- Scroll down the options panel on the left and click More settings.
- Find the Scale (%) section.
- Select Actual size, or select Custom and explicitly set it to 100.

Firefox
- Trigger the print preview window for your checks.
- Look for the Scale option in the right-hand print settings panel.
- Uncheck any box that says Fit to page width if applicable.
- Choose 100% from the scale selection options.

Verification and Troubleshooting
Before executing a large batch run of checks, it is highly recommended to print a single test check on plain paper. Place the printed sample over a blank check sheet to verify that the routing numbers, MICR line, and text blocks align precisely with your check stock fields.
