Featured Enhancements

New field in the Document Package setup area to update a Case File’s “Branch” field (if enabled) when that Document Package is generated, under Administration > Lookups > Document > Document Packages.

Added logic to auto-focus the “Search Text” field in the CMP Find window when it is opened so you will not need to click in the “Search Text” field before typing.

  • Added the “Case Number” and “Account Number” fields as optional columns in the My Reviews grid.

Case File

  • Main:
    • Added the ability to print the Case File Timeline from within the “Options” dropdown, under Case File > Main > Timeline tab.
  • Opponents / Debtors:
    • When adding an Opponent / Debtor, you can now load a “Client, Bank, Employer, or Trustee” contact as a debtor via the “Load from Contacts” button (if enabled by a CMP administrator), under Case File > Opponents / Debtors > Contact Card tab.
    • New optional Opponent Description field on the Opponents / Debtors screen, enabled within the Case Type settings, to better define each opponent or party in a case, under the Case File > Opponents / Debtors > Contact Card tab.
    • New “Spouse Name” and “Relationship” fields are now available for each Debtor under the Case File > Opponents / Debtors > Other Details tab.
    • Added a “Dismissal Date” and “POC Claim Number” for Bankruptcies, along with the corresponding custom reporting / document merge fields, under Case File > Opponents / Debtors > Bankruptcy tab.
  • Case File > Documents:
    • Added logic to prevent the “Principal amount is blank” error message when attempting to generate a document and the Judgment Date is populated.
  • Case File > Imaging:
    • New logic to add “Select All” and “Select None” buttons to the Imaging grid when Multi Select is enabled.
  • Reviews:
    • New ability to view DOCX files attached to a Review via CMP’s inline document editor.
  • Financial:
    • New ability to hide the “Payoff Report” and “JCMR” reports on the Balance screen to prevent system errors when the Case Type for the case file did not include accounts, under Case File > Financial > Balance.
    • Added the ability to review the Client Funds (Cost Account) detail popup, under Case File > Financial > Transactions.

Contacts

  • New ability to set a Client’s “Cost Advance Method” to “Cost If Enough Funds” if the cost account logic is enabled, under the Contacts > Clients > Settings > Accounting tab.
  • Added a new “Combined subtotal by client” combined invoice format, under the Contacts > Clients > Settings > Billing tab.

Tools

  • Custom Reporting:
    • New Merge Fields:
      • Added “Transaction Type (Long)” and “Transaction Code (Long)” fields have been added to the “Transactions”, “First Payment”, “Last Payment”, and “Transaction History” fieldsets.
  • Reporting > Docket:
    • Added a Docket report to view / print a listing of cases to take to court, based on a review code’s due date.

Accounting

  • New company setting (must be enabled by a CMP administrator) to use a Client’s Cost Account by default when paying invoices, under Accounting > Billing > Enter Payments.
  • Added the “Orig Client” to column M of the Excel version of the Remittance report, under Accounting > Remittance.

Administration

  • Lookups > Document > Document Packages:
    • Added the ability to mark a Document Package to “Bypass Adding to History” so that it is not documented or saved on the file when it is generated.
    • New ability to add a flat fee billing entry (in addition to hourly billing) when a document is generated / verified.
  • Setup > Company:
    • New ability for “Company Automations” to *trigger* based on Opponent-level User Defined Field updates, as well as to *update* Opponent-level User Defined Fields.
  • Setup > Document Templates:
    • New Merge Fields:
      • Added a “PostStipulationDebtorPayments” document merge field (for a sum of the debtor payments after the stipulation date).
  • Setup > System Maintenance:
    • Reorganized the “System Maintenance” area into expandable accordions for each “section”.
    • Added the ability to re-number / re-order an Account on the Case File’s Accounts Screen.

Now that the new year is upon us, users need to use caution when entering dates. CMP has a great feature to help ensure your year is accurate when entering file data. Let’s use the litigation screen for example… when entering just the month and day into any date field (without the year), CMP will automatically fill in the current year. But rest assured, if you mean for the date to be 2024 and the system auto-fills your year as 2025, CMP will alert you, letting you know the date is far in the future and may need to be adjusted.
